We are looking for a kind, reliable and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Amesbury. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who loves supporting children with additional needs and wants to play a meaningful part in their growth, learning and daily wellbeing.
The Role – Teaching AssistantAs a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils aged 4–19 across a variety of classes and learning environments. Your key responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 Teaching Assistant support as well as small group assistance to help pupils stay focused and make progress.

Working with pupils who have a range of needs including ASD, communication delays, sensory needs, SEMH, PMLD, and developmental challenges.

Helping to create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment.

Supporting pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility when required (full training can be provided).

Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and confident.

Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists and other Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support.

Using visual supports, communication tools and routines to help pupils understand expectations and transitions.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant RoleTo be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you should:

Be calm, patient and adaptable to different situations.

Have some experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal experience is welcome).

Be confident supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, including personal care.

Have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

Ideally have a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.

Be open to further training and development within your Teaching Assistant role.
£88.92 – £100.00 per day, depending on experience.
