FD Recruit are working exclusively with an award winning, market leading, well established, end to end manufacturing and engineering business based in stunning South Wales, to source a strategically focussed, yet hands-on, Commercial Finance and Compliance Director. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at an exciting time in it’s growth journey and make a significant strategic and commercial contribution and help shape the company for sustainable growth and success, with a potential financial event in the futureResponsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance, IT, HR and Quality Control and Systems, this crucial position reports to, and will be working in conjunction with a Managing Director, who is highly driven and passionate about the business. The Commercial Finance and Compliance Director will be instrumental in managing, streamlining and improving processes across the organisation with a focus on total business development and growth, and to compliment and challenge the Managing Director’s skillset

Key duties will encompass:

  • Provide commercial and financial insight, support, management and control for the Leadership team, and the Board
  • Work in partnership with the business to support enhanced profit through sales and margin growth with cost containment, including significant input for major Commercial actions and decisions – eg capital investments
  • Lead financial planning and management and manage and co-ordinate annual budget process
  • To control all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems
  • To ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company’s financial affairs and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner
  • Managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation and equity
  • Manage the key external financial relationships, banking, legal etc
  • Provide cash flow forecasting and maintain a long-term cash forecast
  • Responsible for supply and analysis of MI and management reporting
  • Formulate financial targets and budgets in accordance with the strategy determined by the Board
  • Manage all IT and Systems needs, including network and server infrastructure, in co-operation with the IT Assistant, and liaise with external service providers
  • Manage the stock take and stock valuation position of the company including product costings – new/updates as necessary and regular substantial review as required
  • Oversee  HR, in conjunction with HR Coordinator. Discuss particular cases with Managing Director regarding policy, approach, actions, responses.
  • Oversee significant disciplinarians and grievances, taking direct involvement where necessary (eg hearings, appeals etc)
  • Acting as Quality Systems Manager
  • Maintain ISO9001:2015 accreditation, including NHSS Scheme 6, and oversee Internal Audit and CAR process and keep current, process, summarise and chase for actions
  • Oversee Procedure / Manual updates as necessary, maintain and report measures

About you:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 5years’ experience in senior finance positions 
  • Experience of working for a manufacturing or engineering organisation is essential, and exposure to management of other commercial areas within a business is highly desirable
  • An excellent understanding of budgeting and financial management at a corporate level
  • Proven Leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate staff effectively at all levels across multiple areas of the business
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally in a highly professional manner
  • Demonstrate high standards of personal integrity and professionalism, behaving fairly with others, building and maintaining trust respect and credibility
  • Responds positively and works constructively under pressurised conditions
  • Demonstrable high level analytical skills for strategic problem solving and decision making
