We are seeking an experienced Multi Skiled Field Service Engineer to join our client's dynamic and growing team.
Based in Ipswich, this permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to travel extensively, receive full training, and earn an attractive salary with door-to-door overtime pay.
About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing machinery across multiple client sites. You'll work with machine controls, PLC systems, and A.C. drive controls, ensuring equipment performs reliably and efficiently.
This is a hands-on position ideal for a motivated engineer who enjoys travel, variety, and problem-solving, while developing their technical expertise in a supportive and forward-thinking company.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, and service work on machinery across customer sites.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical faults, including PLC systems and machine controls.
Carry out repairs and adjustments to A.C. drive controls and related equipment.
Provide mechanical and electrical support within the converting industry (experience in this sector is advantageous).
Work independently while representing the company professionally on client sites.
Travel extensively for service, maintenance, and project assignments, with overtime paid door-to-door.
Participate in ongoing training and development programs to expand your skills and technical knowledge.
Key Requirements
Strong background in both electrical and mechanical engineering (degree or equivalent experience).
Proven hands-on experience with machine controls and PLC systems.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Experience within the converting industry (preferred but not essential).
Confident working independently and managing tasks across multiple locations.
Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively as part of the role.
A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a commitment to continuous learning.
