An engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the team in Andover.Your RoleWhile in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the directors with the provision of relevant and timely financial information to support key decision making
  • Handling bank reconciliations across multi-currencies
  • Maintaining the nominal ledgers on Xero
  • Preparing the monthly management accounts, alongside accruals, prepayments and also depreciation journals
  • Managing and posting stock purchases
  • Overseeing the credit control process, providing intervention as needed by the business
  • Taking ownership of the stock control system integration over to Xero, handling monthly COS adjustments and writing off stock
  • Ensuring bank payments and payment runs are handled
  • Undertaking weekly cash flow forecasting
  • Preparing VAT returns, along with adjustments and PVA statements
  • Ensuring that Payroll is executed from start to finish and is submitted to HMRC
  • Submitting pensions via the online portal
  • Preparing the annual accounts in collaboration with external accountants
You MUST HavePlease apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is required
  • 3+ years of experience within a comparable financial accounting role
  • Exposure to the SME sector
  • Excellent IT skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office and Xero
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication abilities, particularly in presenting financial information to directors
