Production Engineer – Drive Innovation in Electronics Manufacturing
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Mon–Thu: 08:30–17:00, Fri: 08:30–15:30
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, based on experience
Department: Engineering Reporting to: Senior Production Engineer (PCBA)

The Opportunity

A leading electronics manufacturing business is looking for a driven Production Engineer to take ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) and process optimisation within a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

You’ll be the key link between design and production — interpreting complex engineering data, defining efficient build processes, and ensuring that new products launch seamlessly into manufacturing. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, improving workflows, and delivering technical excellence.

What You'll Do as the Production Engineer
  • Lead the technical delivery of New Product Introductions (NPI)

  • Analyse and interpret design data (BOMs, Gerbers, drawings) into clear, production-ready documentation

  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and quality

  • Provide day-to-day support to production teams, troubleshooting technical issues

  • Collaborate with internal teams and customer engineering departments to resolve queries and ensure compliance

  • Support training initiatives for new and existing processes

  • Maintain and improve engineering documentation and standard operating procedures

What You'll Bring as a Production Engineer
  • 5 years' experience in PCBA manufacturing or a similar electronics environment

  • A solid background in NPI, process optimisation, and production engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering designs and translate them into practical applications

  • Engineering qualification (electronics or related field), or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and with customers
