Farming Manager - Vegetables (Broccoli & Cauliflower)

Farming Manager - Vegetables - The Job Role Details:
As a Farming Manager - Vegetables, you will be responsible for the management of broccoli and cauliflower crops from planting to harvest. You will oversee crop health, lead seasonal harvest teams, and ensure all compliance and quality standards are met.

Farming Manager - Vegetables - Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor broccoli and cauliflower crops, ensuring best practices across all growing operations
* Lead, motivate, and manage harvest teams to achieve production and quality targets
* Walk crops regularly to forecast harvest timings accurately
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
* Plan and manage harvest operations to meet customer and retailer expectations
* Assist with tractor driving and field machinery operations when needed
* Maintain detailed records on crop performance, harvest progress, and compliance documentation
* Support the development of crop protection and fertiliser strategies
* Communicate effectively with a diverse, multicultural seasonal workforce
* Contribute to ongoing sustainability and environmental initiatives

Farming Manager - Vegetables - Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have/be:
* A solid background in vegetable crop production and farm management
* Practical experience working with broccoli and cauliflower crops (preferred but not essential)
* Strong field assessment skills and the ability to make informed crop management decisions
* Proven leadership and people management capabilities
* A valid UK driving license (tractor driving experience beneficial)
* Good communication skills - fluency in Russian or an Eastern European language would be advantageous, but not essential
* A hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
* Knowledge of health, safety, food safety, and environmental compliance in farming operations
