I am currently on the lookout for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a SEN School near NG5.Our School caters for children aged 11-18 with MLD, ASC, PDA ADHD and other learning difficulties that may present as challenging behaviour.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with various learning difficulties and SEND (such as ASC, ADHD, PDA, OCD & Challenging Behaviour)
  • Implement individualised strategies to support students with ASC, ADHD, MLD, and SEMH needs, in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of personalised education plans (IEPs) and contribute to the monitoring of student progress.
  • Support students during social interactions, encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation inside and outside of the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within an educational setting is desirable. We also welcome applicants from other job backgrounds, such as; Youth Work, Residential Childcare, Probation/Prison Work etc.
  • Prior experience supporting children & young people with SEN (ASC, ADHD, PDA, OCD, Non-Verbal, Sensory Disorders, Challenging Behaviour) & SEMH is desirable
  • Valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obatin one)
