Accounts and Audit Assistant - £27-34,000 per annum

Office based, Sunningdale, Ascot

Salary & Benefits:  Audit & Accounts Assistant

£27-34,000 p.a. depending on qualifications/experience; 31 days annual leave including bank holidays increasing with service. Study packages available for those with relevant experience who may be part way through their ACCA, ACA, or equivalent. Core hours 9am to 5pm. Potential also for part-time opportunities, dependent on experience.

The Role: Audit & Accounts Assistant

Delivering a range of professional services, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, VAT returns, personal and corporate tax compliance, assisting on audit assignments. Reviewing the work of  team members and of records supplied by clients. We encourage client contact and offer genuine autonomy - an opportunity to develop client facing skills and build professional business relationships.

Key Responsibilities: Audit & Accounts Assistant

  • Maintaining and/or reviewing bookkeeping records using software such as Sage, Xero and Quickbooks
  • Preparation of year-end accounts for sole trades, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Preparation/reviewing  VAT returns including accurate and timely submissions
  • Preparation of corporate and personal tax computations and returns for review and submission
  • Assisting with audit planning and fieldwork, liaising with clients to gather information and assistance with preparation of audit files
  • Dealing with clients’ general and technical queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Supporting and developing trainees

Key applicant requirements:

  • AAT qualified and/or studying towards ACCA or ACA / Qualified by Experience
  • Previous accounting experience, preferably within a practice environment
  • Solid grasp of cloud accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, Quickbooks) and ability to interrogate and analytically review client record keeping
  • Accurate and keen eye for detail
  • Good time/budget management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
