Macildowie are working exclusively with this client based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business within the construction services industry. The company has experienced significant growth since 2020 and now operates from its own offices on Ashby Business Park, providing services to major builds across the country.

As an Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be an integral part of a small finance team, ensuring the accurate processing of supplier invoices and maintaining financial records in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly.
  • Match, batch, and code invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs via BACS.
  • Handle supplier queries via phone and email, maintaining good relationships.
  • Assist with month-end procedures, including ledger reconciliations and accruals.
  • Post bank transactions and assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required.

Person Specification:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (purchase ledger, accounts payable, or accounts assistant).
  • Strong numerical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced finance environment.
