Accounts Assistant | Ashby | Temp To Perm | Up To £15ph

Macildowie are pleased to be recruiting for a growing construction services business based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. This is a fantastic temporary to permanent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a small and friendly finance team.

The business has experienced consistent growth since 2020 and operates from modern offices in Ashby Business Park, supporting major construction projects across the UK.

Location: Ashby-de-la-Zouch, LeicestershireHourly Rate: £13 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience)Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pmWorking Arrangement: Office-based

The Role:You'll play a key role in processing supplier invoices and supporting the wider finance function to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving queries
  • Preparing weekly and monthly BACS payment runs
  • Responding to supplier queries by phone and email
  • Assisting with month-end processes, including reconciliations and accruals
  • Posting bank transactions and assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Supporting with general finance administration as needed

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in purchase ledger or similar accounts roles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ideally Sage)
  • Well-organised and able to manage deadlines independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
