Design Engineer responsibilities include -
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) by designing and developing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, and production documentation, ensuring ERP data accuracy.
- Support feasibility reviews, manufacturability analyses, and technical assessments.
- Provide engineering support to production, resolving tooling, process, and material issues.
- rive improvement through lean initiatives, tooling upgrades, and design standardisation.
- Support root cause analysis, process validation, and integration of engineering changes.
Design Engineer desirable skills and experience -
- Experience within a similar role - NPI Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer etc.
- Strong experience using 3D software packages such as Catia, or Solidworks.
- Proven background in design or manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals / modern manufacturing methods.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks to deadline.
