We are seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to join our Global client based in Mid Kent. This role will not only manage financial operations but also aid in strategic decision-making.

Client Details

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our client, a global Manufacturing business based in Mid Kent on a full time and permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and demonstrable involvement in business strategy, commercial thinking and leading projects.

As Financial Controller, you will drive financial control, enhance reporting processes, and streamline day-to-day operations to better support the business' growth trajectory. Please note, this role requires an onsite presence.

Description

  • Support the FD with regular financial, commercial, and legal input into adhoc projects, improvements and regulatory changes.
  • Lead on annual external audits and preparation of Statutory Accounts packs.
  • Key level of involvement in periodic internal audit reviews and ensuring ongoing robust internal controls are implemented and maintained within the team and wider business.
  • Assisting the FD with production of Budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensuring that all leases fall under IFRS 16.
  • Regular review and publication of Finance driven Polices and rates.
  • Preparation and submission of Quarterly UK VAT return, as well as preparation of Irish VAT returns for submission to Irish Revenue.
  • Working closely with FA/FD to review of corporation tax computations and returns in liaison with the Group tax department and external tax consultant.
  • Assist in annual review and approval of PAYE Settlement Agreement.
  • Monthly review of Accruals/Prepayments and Overhead Cost reporting against budget.
  • Monthly review of and preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled and that all reconciliation differences are clear on a timely basis.
  • Monthly reconciliation of expected lease costs versus actual costs and preparing accrual/prepayment/correction journals as necessary.
  • Review of weekly Cash Flow Forecasts prepared by the FA, before submission to Group Treasury.
  • Working with the team where necessary in producing accurate monthly reports and Submission of Divisional and Group reports.

Profile

The successful Financial Controller will have/ be:

  • Formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or QBE
  • Must have broad experience in Finance with a detailed knowledge of AP, AR, and Financial Accounting
  • Previous experience of working at Group level is advantageous
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organisation skills and a flexible approach to dealing with deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience of SAP and SAP Financial Consolidation would be an advantage.
