Job Overview:
We're on the lookout for an experienced and confident Cladding Remediation / Fire Safety Contract Manager to take the lead on vital building safety projects across social housing projects. You will be playing a key role in delivering high-impact cladding remediation and fire safety works - ensuring residents are safe, homes are compliant, and projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. As part of the role, you will be working closely with internal teams, residents, contractors, and the client to make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cladding remediation and fire safety works across a range of residential buildings.
- Ensure projects are delivered in compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Appoint, manage and coordinate external contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost reporting.
- Ensure effective resident communication and engagement throughout the project life cycle.
- Carry out quality control inspections and oversee snagging and handover procedures.
- Manage risk assessments, health & safety documentation, and method statements.
- Work closely with internal asset management, compliance and housing teams.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership and ensure full audit trail of all works.
- Coordinate with fire risk assessors and building control bodies for approvals and certifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing cladding/fire safety remediation works in a social housing context.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant fire safety and building safety legislation.
- Excellent contract management and negotiation skills, ideally with experience of JCT or NEC contracts.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Good understanding of construction, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS, CIOB, CSCS Black Card or equivalent construction/project management certification).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
