Job Title: Crane Engineer – Crawler Cranes
Location: South East England
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
NEOS Engineering are recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of lifting and construction solutions for an experienced Crane Engineer specialising in crawler cranes to join their team in the South East of England. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic company providing on-site and workshop support for heavy lifting equipment.
The Role:
As a Crane Engineer, your primary responsibility will be the maintenance, servicing, and repair of crawler cranes, ensuring safe and efficient operation. You will carry out diagnostics, mechanical and hydraulic repairs, and statutory inspections, supporting both on-site projects and workshop operations. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on crawler cranes, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

Diagnose and repair faults across crane systems to manufacturer standards

Conduct thorough examinations and safety inspections in line with statutory regulations (LOLER/PUWER)

Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage

Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams and clients

Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations at all times

Assist the workshop team with rebuilds, testing, and component repairs
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Crane Engineer or heavy plant engineer, ideally specialising in crawler cranes

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills

Experience with statutory thorough examinations (LOLER/PUWER) desirable

Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Full UK driving licence required; CSCS or equivalent desirable
