Principal Ecologist - Kent
Salary: 40,000+

Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking a Principal Ecologist to join their growing team in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ecologist to take a leading role in delivering high-quality ecological surveys, assessments, and advice across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ecological surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity impact assessments.

  • Provide expert advice on ecological legislation, planning policy, and conservation strategies.

  • Manage and mentor junior ecologists, fostering a strong team culture.

  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and contribute to client proposals.

  • Liaise with clients, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to support project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Significant post-graduate experience in ecological consultancy or research.

  • Chartered status or eligibility (CIEEM) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, habitat regulations, and biodiversity net gain principles.

  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
