Description:

Connect2Kent have an exciting opportunity for experienced Residential Home Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home located in Kent.

Purpose of the role:

Support the Registered Manager in running the children's home in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards. Lead a team of Residential Support Workers and act as a corporate parent to children, ensuring their safety and care until they move to a permanent home.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain and develop a safe, compliant living environment.
  • Build positive relationships with Ofsted and Independent Visitors; respond to inspection findings when required.
  • Oversee daily operations, including safeguarding and quality of care.
  • Run shift handovers, assign tasks, and ensure completion.
  • Check and approve children's records on Liberi for accuracy.
  • Ensure children attend appointments and reviews; record outcomes promptly.
  • Report incidents to the Registered Manager.
  • Manage room availability and belongings checklists for arrivals and departures.
  • Plan weekly activities and encourage participation.
  • Work shifts as needed to monitor and support staff practice.
  • Promote equality and inclusion; listen to children's wishes and feelings.
  • Provide regular supervision and development plans for Residential Support Workers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of working and caring for children or young people.

  • Experience of working in a residential setting
  • Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum- seeking children
  • Familiarity with Children's Home regulations and standards.

Pay: 17.84 per hour
