Description:
Connect2Kent have an exciting opportunity for experienced Residential Home Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home located in Kent.
Purpose of the role:
Support the Registered Manager in running the children's home in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards. Lead a team of Residential Support Workers and act as a corporate parent to children, ensuring their safety and care until they move to a permanent home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help maintain and develop a safe, compliant living environment.
- Build positive relationships with Ofsted and Independent Visitors; respond to inspection findings when required.
- Oversee daily operations, including safeguarding and quality of care.
- Run shift handovers, assign tasks, and ensure completion.
- Check and approve children's records on Liberi for accuracy.
- Ensure children attend appointments and reviews; record outcomes promptly.
- Report incidents to the Registered Manager.
- Manage room availability and belongings checklists for arrivals and departures.
- Plan weekly activities and encourage participation.
- Work shifts as needed to monitor and support staff practice.
- Promote equality and inclusion; listen to children's wishes and feelings.
- Provide regular supervision and development plans for Residential Support Workers.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience of working and caring for children or young people.
- Experience of working in a residential setting
- Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum- seeking children
- Familiarity with Children's Home regulations and standards.
Pay: 17.84 per hour
