Summary:We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a reactive works team on a hospital project. This role involves carrying out maintenance, repair, and fault-finding activities on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure their reliable and safe operation within a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will respond promptly to breakdowns, perform routine servicing, and support planned maintenance tasks. Working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Due to the nature of the project, a valid DBS check is mandatory and must be in place prior to starting. The role requires adherence to health and safety standards and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skills:- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fault diagnosis
- Ability to work reactively and respond promptly to breakdowns
- Knowledge of hospital or healthcare mechanical systems (desirable)
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and organisational skills
- Valid DBS clearance (essential)
- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (desirable)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Valid DBS check (mandatory)
- Relevant mechanical maintenance qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Maintenance) preferred
- Health and Safety training (e.g. IOSH, CSCS) advantageous
