Shift Team Leader - Energy from Waste

Alecto Recruitment is keen to hear from Shift Team Leaders who have experience overseeing shift teams in the EfW sector or similar, interested in a full-time permanent role in the Kent area.

Job Brief

You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the Operations Team and the safe and efficient operation of the plant Deputising as Operations Manager to ensure critical decisions are made in a safe and professional manner including;

  • Manage day to day objectives for the site to include operational output, logistics, long term operational and maintenance needs, statutory compliance, resource planning and cost control measures.
  • Identify and achieve key indicators of success, establishing improvement plans and targets for the shift team.
  • Manage and be fully accountable for the core requirements of the SHE Management system.
  • Ensure shift teams are competent both technically and behaviourally and that adequate support is available, organised and supervised where necessary.
  • Provide strong management giving precise delegation and responsibility where needed.
  • Motivate and enthuse all members of the shift team to contribute to a purposeful environment.
  • Ensure full implementation and continued improvement of the Maintenance System.

Requirements

  • A relevant technical qualification such as an ONC/HNC/HNC/Degree in an engineering discipline
  • At least 5 years' experience in an operational environment on a power station with Supervisory experience.
  • This could be Energy from Waste, Coal, CCGT, Biomass, CHP or Nuclear.
  • Senior Royal Navy Marine Engineers with significant watch-keeping experience will also be considered (Petty Officers/Chief Petty Officers/Warrant Officers)
  • Candidate should hold IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Senior Authorised Persons Status or experience with High Voltage equipment would be a bonus.
  • Excellent proven leadership skills.

Package

  • Salary is 65,000 and 70,000 plus benefits.
  • Performance related Bonus available.
