Town Planner (Graduate to Associate Level)

A well-established, design-led planning and architectural studio near Ashford is seeking talented and motivated Town Planners at all levels - from recent graduates to experienced associate planners.
You'll work on a broad mix of projects including bespoke rural homes, residential developments, heritage sites, and complex planning applications throughout Kent and beyond. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team that values creativity, technical excellence, and a personalised approach to planning.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your level of experience, your role will involve:
路Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
路Conducting site appraisals, policy research, and feasibility assessments
路Liaising with clients, consultants, and local planning authorities
路Supporting or leading on Local Plan representations, pre-application advice, and stakeholder engagement
路Working closely with the in-house technical design team on a wide variety of projects
About You
路A degree in Town Planning or a related subject (RTPI-accredited preferred)
路Strong written and verbal communication skills
路Understanding of UK planning policy and development control
路Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
路A full UK driving licence is desirable due to site-based work
Applicants for Associate-level roles should have:
路Several years' experience in planning consultancy or local authority
路Strong project leadership and client management skills
路RTPI membership or eligibility for chartership
