Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer - Sucession Role

Fresh People are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist food manufacturing business producing fruit and confectionery sauces for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join the site near Ashford, Kent, responsible for ensuring efficient and safe maintenance across a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to the required standard during the shift.
  • Identify causes of potential equipment failures or performance issues and either complete repairs during shift or communicate findings to the next shift and Engineering Team Leader.
  • Record all maintenance activities and issues on the shift log clearly and accurately.
  • Conduct and implement risk assessments before starting maintenance work to ensure hazards are removed and safety is prioritised.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with Health & Safety standards and company protocols.
  • Maintain food safety and quality standards throughout all engineering activities.
  • Support hygiene and housekeeping standards appropriate to a food manufacturing environment.
  • Report and log engineering stock usage or shortages to the Engineering Lead.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by setting and reviewing maintenance procedures and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships within the production and support functions on site.

? What Were Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a food or FMCG environment
  • PC skills in Win 10
  • Recognised engineering accreditation electrical or mechanical
  • Good Communication/presentation skills.
  • Able to operate on own initiative.
  • Experience working in FMCG environment.
  • A good understanding of operational and engineering KPIs.
  • Ability to work with low level supervision.
