As a Lead Design Coordinator, you’ll act as the crucial link between contractors, operations, and internal teams — ensuring smooth technical coordination and alignment from project inception through to handover.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building trust with diverse stakeholders, can lead with integrity, and excels in complex project environments. You’ll ensure engineering excellence by aligning all technical inputs and delivering integrated, safe, and compliant solutions.

This is a long term contract, outside ir35.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a visible and trusted technical liaison across design, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Lead the coordination and integration of design inputs across disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery.

  • Evaluate complex technical scenarios, making confident, safety-led decisions to maintain project momentum.

  • Develop and enforce consistent design standards and best practices across engineering outputs.

  • Review contractor designs, resolve technical queries, and ensure constructability and commissioning considerations are addressed.

  • Support the Project Manager in all phases of delivery with robust technical input and documentation.

  • Ensure all designs meet CDM 2015 requirements and align with internal specifications and quality processes.

  • Manage technical scopes, instructions, and reviews, while keeping track of progress using relevant systems.

  • Facilitate design reviews, audits, and ensure quality control at every project stage.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in engineering, design coordination, or infrastructure delivery.

  • Experience managing technical interfaces in multi-disciplinary project environments.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – confident working with contractors, technical experts, and operations teams.

  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and compliance requirements, including CDM2015.

  • A proactive, detail-focused mindset with a passion for quality and delivery.
