The UK operations of this global enterprise is looking for a 'fully charged' Technical Manager here in Ashford Kent.

The main Purpose of the role is to monitor the production schedule and ensure that workloads and capacity are in line, and guaranteeing that the defined objectives (productivity, quality, safety) are met.

Industrialisation: in order to set up production series, you will work with the R&D department to ensure that new products can be manufactured in the workshop using the resources available, while optimising assembly times and meeting the required quality levels.

You will have 2 managers directly reporting to you, including the team leader of the Ashford workshop, which employs around 10 people, and the R&D manager.

Find, design and implement, in co-operation with the workshop manager, technical solutions and production tools which make manufacturing easier for operators, which optimise assembly times and reduce the risk of non-quality.

Analyse the various workshop activity indicators, identifying ways of improving profitability and productivity, in particular adjusting production times or the workforce according to requirements, while keeping performance in mind.

Be involved in monitoring and resolving CAPAs (corrective action and preventive action): you will be responsible for creating, monitoring and ensuring that action plans are implemented.

Handle incidents and find solutions to ensure production.

Implement quality procedures and operating methods within the workshop.
Set up KPIs to monitor productivity, performance and stock value.

Stay aware of new technologies and products that will increase production efficiency, design and continuously improve methods in order to remain competitive.

Skills required:

Degree Educated and at least 5 years' experience in a similar position in industry, electronics, electricity and assembly.

Excellent communication skills.
Ability to find consensus between R&D and production.
Good people skills.
Organised.
Autonomous and proactive,
Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, PDCA, 5W, etc.).
Knowledge of production management tools (Lean, 6 sigma, etc.).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other certifications.

The position required occasional travel in France, Tunisia and Solihull (a few times a year) and pays £45,000 to £60,000 per year.
