This organisation is the chosen logistics partner for several high-profile manufacturers within the Healthcare and Technology sectors and is recognised for delivering exceptional levels of service across the UK and European markets.Role Overview:The European Transport Planner plays a vital role in the successful delivery of cross-border logistics services across Europe. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for planning and monitoring transport activities, ensuring smooth and timely execution of deliveries, installations, and collections across a multi-partner network.The successful candidate will be commercially minded, adept at supplier management, and capable of troubleshooting issues in real-time to maintain service excellence. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong planning abilities, a deep understanding of European transport regulations and customs procedures, and a proactive approach to customer service and problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule European deliveries and installations in line with customer requirements.
  • Optimise use of resources including vehicles, crews, and logistics partners.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and partners to confirm availability, negotiate rates, and issue purchase orders.
  • Maintain and monitor supplier relationships and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Be the first point of contact for transport and operational issues during active delivery windows.
  • Source and onboard new carriers in line with business requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide customs guidance and ensure compliance with cross-border shipping procedures.
  • Support tender activities by contributing costed logistics solutions.
  • Own the full order lifecycle from booking to proof of delivery (POC/POD).
  • Provide quotations and process internal documentation using the company’s transport management system.
  • Ensure seamless communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the delivery process.
  • Support billing readiness by ensuring accurate job documentation and timely submissions.
  • Provide operational support to the wider Client Operations team and management as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in European transport planning or logistics coordination.
  • In-depth knowledge of European cross-border shipping and customs documentation.
  • Proven experience managing supplier performance and onboarding new logistics partners.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Positive, flexible team player with a hands-on approach and a strong work ethic.
