Our client, an independent family-owned business and a trusted supplier of premium fresh produce to major supermarkets, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to join their team and help drive their mission forward.
Our client are seeking a committed and positive individual, ideally with previous experience working within a production environment and knowledge of production processes. Experience within FMCG/food manufacturing is desirable. You will possess a positive 'can-do' attitude, have excellent problem-solving skills and be well organised and results orientated. Fluency in English, both verbal and written is essential together with good numerical ability.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Production Manager in day-to-day operations, including transport coordination, inventory management, and quality control
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of grapes
Monitor and oversee production processes to maintain product integrity
Lead and support a team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback
Handle inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
Manage production planning to align with delivery schedules and quality standards
Prepare production reports for the sales team
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Health & Safety and food safety standards
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, ideally within the food import/export industry
Strong understanding of production operations, quality control, and transport logistics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory management systems is a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Additional Information
- 4 working days per week
Shift: 4:45 PM to 3:45 AM (with potential earlier start during quieter periods)
Alternate Saturday night work required
