Operations Technician - Power Station (EfW / Power Generation)
Kent
Circa 65,000 + Benefits + Bonus

Alecto Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Technician to join the operations team at an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Kent.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a power station operation, with excellent salary, overtime opportunities, and career progression.



The Role - Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Technician, you will support the Shift Team Leaders with all operational activities on site, including:

  • Starting, stopping, and monitoring gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, pumps, water treatment plant, and heat exchangers via the DCS control system.

  • Diagnosing plant-related issues and carrying out first-line maintenance tasks, reporting defects to the Shift Team Leader.

  • Conducting routine operational checks and plant testing.

  • Supervising and managing contractors working on site.

  • Assisting with specific projects to develop your knowledge of the plant and operations.

  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, with strict adherence to health and safety procedures.



Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Operational experience within Power Generation (steam cycle experience is advantageous).

  • Alternatively, candidates from similar industries or with a Naval / Military engineering background will also be considered.

  • A relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

  • The ability to support across Mechanical, Electrical, or C&I disciplines when required.

  • A strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance.
