Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Estimator to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn from highly experienced colleagues, act as a buddy to an Assistant Estimator, and be involved in delivering full projects, not just individual packages of work. You will collaborate closely with the operations team to secure new projects and support ongoing ones, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork throughout the tender process.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing competitive tenders.
Conduct site surveys to assess potential risks and liaise with clients.
Maintain transparent communication between Estimating and Operations teams.
Manage client expectations throughout the tender process.
Support Quantity Surveyors with pricing additional items, variations, and alternative rates.
Keep the estimating team informed about incoming and outgoing tenders.
Act as a buddy to an Assistant Estimator, providing guidance and support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary educated ideally in commercial management/quantity surveying, or relevant practical experience.
Some experience in civil and/or built environments is preferred.
Strong time management skills and flexibility in planning and prioritizing tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good understanding of Standard Methods of Measurement.
Ability to manage complex issues within tight and unpredictable time frames.
