The Role - Key Responsibilities
As the DCS Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Ongoing maintenance, support, and optimisation of the site-wide DCS.
Leading upgrade projects (software and hardware improvements).
Troubleshooting and resolving control system issues across the plant.
Administering user access and ensuring security of control logic.
Supporting auxiliary systems such as turbine and emissions control platforms.
Maintaining detailed documentation, backups, and system change logs.
Working closely with engineering and maintenance teams.
Staying up to date with the latest control system technologies and recommending improvements.
Developing process monitoring tools to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
A relevant technical qualification (HNC, ONC, NVQ) or significant industry experience.
At least 5 years' experience in a control systems role within Energy from Waste, Power, Cement, or Process industries.
Strong knowledge of Siemens or Yokogawa DCS systems (preferred).
Experience working with PLCs.
Understanding of industrial communication protocols.
Project management skills (experience with Microsoft Project desirable).
Experience using CMMS systems (Q4 preferred).
A proactive, detail-focused approach with excellent teamwork skills.
