Are you a creative and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) with a passion for the performing arts?

GSL Education Kent are seeking a dynamic individual to join a specialist school in Ashford that supports students with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This inclusive and therapeutic setting values creativity as a powerful tool for engagement and expression. As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a performing arts background, you will help students build confidence, communication, and emotional resilience through music, drama, and movement.

  • Encourage independence, teamwork, and self-esteem through performance-based learning

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism and SEMH
  • Bring a background in performing arts (e.g., drama, music, dance) to enrich the learning environment
  • Be empathetic, patient, and adaptable, with strong communication skills
  • Be proactive and able to follow guidance from teaching and therapeutic staff
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Be a driver with access to a vehicle, as travel is essential due to the school’s location and duties
