Connect2Kent have an exciting opportunity for experienced Reception Centre Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home located in Kent.
Purpose of the role:
To lead and manage a team of Centre Workers, ensuring young people at the Reception Centre attend appointments, develop independent living skills, engage in activities, and feel safe and supported.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead daily handover meetings and allocate tasks to Centre Workers.
- Ensure new arrivals receive the Young Person's Guide and orientation, with interpreter support where possible.
- Monitor attendance at appointments and ensure reports are completed and quality checked.
- Submit accurate reports and incident records to Business Support and Operations Manager.
- Oversee participation in Child in Care reviews and age assessment observations.
- Manage bedroom availability and belongings checklists for arrivals and departures.
- Maintain accurate financial records for any money handled.
- Create weekly activity plans and encourage engagement in meaningful activities.
- Provide regular supervision and support to Centre Workers.
- Promote young people's independence, choices, and well-being.
- Work collaboratively with managers, social workers, and other professionals.
- Uphold equality, anti-discrimination, and professional standards at all times.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience of working and caring for children or young people.
- Experience of working in a residential setting
- Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum- seeking children
- Familiarity with Children's Home regulations and standards.
Pay: 17.84 per hour
