Description:

Connect2Kent have an exciting opportunity for experienced Reception Centre Manager to assist with the running of a brand new Children's Home located in Kent.

Purpose of the role:

To lead and manage a team of Centre Workers, ensuring young people at the Reception Centre attend appointments, develop independent living skills, engage in activities, and feel safe and supported.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily handover meetings and allocate tasks to Centre Workers.
  • Ensure new arrivals receive the Young Person's Guide and orientation, with interpreter support where possible.
  • Monitor attendance at appointments and ensure reports are completed and quality checked.
  • Submit accurate reports and incident records to Business Support and Operations Manager.
  • Oversee participation in Child in Care reviews and age assessment observations.
  • Manage bedroom availability and belongings checklists for arrivals and departures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for any money handled.
  • Create weekly activity plans and encourage engagement in meaningful activities.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to Centre Workers.
  • Promote young people's independence, choices, and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with managers, social workers, and other professionals.
  • Uphold equality, anti-discrimination, and professional standards at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of working and caring for children or young people.

  • Experience of working in a residential setting
  • Experience of working with unaccompanied asylum- seeking children
  • Familiarity with Children's Home regulations and standards.

Pay: 17.84 per hour
