We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics business in Ashford for an experienced Senior Warehouse Operative. This role is ideal for someone confident in managing daily warehouse functions, supporting junior staff and maintaining a safe, organised environment.

You’ll be involved in a mix of hands-on tasks, equipment upkeep, stock control, and system updates. Flexibility and leadership are key, as the role supports both operational efficiency and compliance.

Salary: Up to £28,399 per annum

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory investigations
  • Support junior team members and ensure a smooth daily workflow
  • Handle goods-in and dispatch, including accurate system updates
  • Monitor and resolve non-conformance (NCR), hold, and quarantine stock
  • Perform light maintenance tasks and safety checks (e.g. PAT testing)
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and safe at all times
  • Ensure accurate labelling and documentation of all stock movements
  • Communicate with internal teams and external customers in a professional manner
  • Load/unload vehicles and verify that goods are secure and damage-free
  • Ensure that warehouse processes follow health and safety standards
  • Complete basic reporting and assist with audits when required
  • Work flexibly across departments and occasionally at other local sites if needed
What You’ll Need:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a warehouse setting, ideally with supervisory exposure
  • A practical understanding of health & safety in a warehouse environment
  • Experience with stock control systems and basic warehouse admin
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with the ability to lead by example
  • Good communication skills and the ability to multitask under pressure
  • Valid licences for Counterbalance, Reach Truck, and PPT are highly desirable
  • Basic maintenance knowledge is a plus (PAT testing/racking checks)
