Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ear Wax Technicians or Audiologist to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction & Assessment: Greet clients, verify details, explain the procedure, and conduct an ear health questionnaire.
- Ear Wax Removal: Perform ear wax removal using appropriate techniques, such as microsuction, water irrigation, or manual instruments.
- Clinical Standards: Provide a high standard of care before, during, and after the appointment, working within agreed protocols and guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential medical notes, complying with GDPR regulations.
- Equipment & Stock: Ensure the proper stocking, maintenance, and compliance of necessary equipment and materials for wax removal.
- Health & Safety: Follow current health and safety standards and company guidelines.
- Signposting: Advise patients on ear health needs and, when necessary, refer them to other healthcare professionals or services, such as audiologists or GPs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Qualified in a specific method of ear wax removal, such as microsuction, often from a BSHAA-approved or equivalent course.
- Knowledge: A good understanding of ear anatomy and physiology, and how to identify and report deviations from normal ear conditions.
- Customer Care: A strong ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with patients.
- Professionalism: A clinically focused approach, working independently and according to professional and company standards.
- Record-Keeping: Excellent written communication skills for accurate medical notes.
