Location: Ashington
On-Site Role
Up to 40,000 (based on site)

Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 14.30 and Friday 08.00 to 13.50 (30 mins lunch)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for aManufacturing Engineerto join an established and growing low volume engineering company. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in process development, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support or lead the development and implementation of new processes and equipment.
  • Ensure all work aligns with 5S and lean manufacturing principles, maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Translate customer requirements into capable manufacturing processes and ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Participate in both customer and internal design reviews in support of operations.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Integrate tooling, gauging, and quality considerations early in the NPI process.
  • Collaborate on Supplier Quality Assurance efforts to secure reliable goods and services.
  • Manage projects involving new equipment, plant, or facility installations.
  • Assist with departmental budget preparation and control.
  • Produce relevant manufacturing documentation and risk assessments.
  • Investigate and resolve production process issues.
  • Prepare technical reports for senior management.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship (Electro/Mechanical or Technical/Craft).
  • Minimum HNC qualification in an Electro/Mechanical Engineering discipline or hold an mechanical Beng
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
