Job Title: 2nd Line IT EngineerLocation: Ashton, ManchesterSalary: £30,000 - £37,000 (DOE)Work Structure: Hybrid (3/2) after probationWe're working with a growing business based in Ashton, Manchester, that's looking to strengthen its internal IT team with the addition of a 2nd Line IT Engineer.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled support professional who enjoys working across a broad range of systems and applications. As part of a close-knit in-house IT team, you'll provide hands-on support to colleagues across the business, helping to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 2nd line support to internal users across multiple departments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Escalate complex problems to the senior IT team when necessary
  • Support system upgrades, rollouts, and ongoing improvement projects
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions

What We're Looking For:

  • Solid experience in a 2nd line support role within an internal IT environment
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Good working knowledge of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V) and backup solutions
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude
