About the School:Equitas is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a mixed SEN secondary school that supports young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment, with small class sizes of 4-5 students, allowing for highly tailored and individualised teaching. They are now seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team as soon as possible or at the earliest available opportunity.
Job Description:The school is looking for a passionate, resilient teacher who can inspire and support young people with SEMH needs. You will be teaching small groups, delivering lessons that engage, challenge, and support each student’s unique learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH and other SEN requirements.

Foster a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed.

Build strong, trusting relationships with students, providing consistent emotional and behavioural support.

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning needs.

Monitor student progress and work closely with colleagues, SENCO, and parents/carers to support each child's development.

Promote emotional resilience, self-confidence, and positive behaviour within the classroom and wider school environment.

Participate actively in school life, including planning and attending events and meetings.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but not essential if you have significant relevant teaching experience, especially within SEMH or SEN settings.

Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.

Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a calm, purposeful learning environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
