Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and adapting resources to suit individual needs.

  • Support pupils in developing social skills, independence, and confidence.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.

  • Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.

  • Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect.

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
