Working for a specialist pharmaceutical business head quartered in Buckinghamshire. Reporting into the FC, offices based near Maidenhead, the Financial Accounts Assistant will support the Financial Controller, Financial Accountant, Financial Reporting Accountant and wider Finance Department in delivering accurate and timely financial data and supporting documentation. The role will assist the international commercial team and contribute to compliance, reporting, and analytical work that underpins decision-making within the finance leadership.

The role:

  • Support production of monthly and quarterly financial documentation including journal postings, reconciliations, and financial provisions / prepayments.
  • Perform manual payment tracking, bank reconciliations, and submission processes through HSBC.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost centre forecasts and budgets for departments such as Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, and Communications.
  • Conduct variance analysis and reporting, providing business partnering support to stakeholders.
  • Respond to audit queries and support statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g., ABPI, ONS, VAT, PPT).
  • Assist in managing credit control processes for International accounts including debt chasing, credit limit adjustments, and reporting.
  • Ensure month-end tasks such as accruals, prepayments, depreciation, FX analysis, and tax postings are completed accurately.
  • Maintain the Fixed and Intangible asset registers, liaising with key contributors and the supporting finance colleagues to ensure values are up-to-date and depreciated/amortized consistently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including HMRC, tax advisors, HSBC, and others.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in a financial assistant or accounts support role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of transactions
  • Proficiency with Excel and SAP (or equivalent ERP systems)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage ad hoc requests
  • Available immediately and interested in temporary work.
  • Car driver and happy to commute 2/3 days a week on site
  • Able to commit to 4 - 6 months temporary position
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment
