Interaction Engineering  Industrial Painter – 2-Pack Systems

 

General Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter with hands-on experience in applying 2-pack (two-component) paint systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the finishing process of manufactured components, ensuring high standards of durability, appearance, and compliance with industry specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking components to ensure proper adhesion.

  • Apply 2-pack epoxy and polyurethane coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers as appropriate.

  • Mix and handle 2-pack paint systems according to manufacturer specifications and COSHH guidelines.

  • Monitor environmental conditions and curing times to ensure optimal finish quality.

  • Conduct visual inspections and paint thickness testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance and workplace cleanliness.

  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe handling practices for hazardous materials.

  • Assist other departments or production areas as needed.

  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements Essential:
  • NVQ / BTEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working with 2-pack paint systems (epoxy/polyurethane).

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Knowledge of surface preparation methods and finishing standards.

  • Understanding and proper use of PPE and hazardous materials safety protocols.

Desirable:
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Basic computer literacy (for job logging, quality records, etc.).
