The Accounts Semi-Senior Role: As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a crucial role in preparing financial statements in compliance with relevant financial reporting standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial statements from source documents/records to final accounts for review by the appropriate manager.
- Creating accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements.
- Adhering to proper accounting standards and working on a diverse range of accounts.
- Effectively managing time to ensure that jobs are finished within budget and meeting deadlines.
- Developing and maintaining good client relations, resolving queries and obtaining necessary information.
- Providing a high level of service to meet client expectations.
- Making timely recommendations in relation to accounting matters, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
Additional Accounts Semi-Senior Responsibilities:
- Assisting with bookkeeping, VAT return preparation.
- Preparing control account reconciliations and other month-end procedures.
- Preparing quarterly management accounts for onward submission to clients.
The Ideal Accounts Semi-Senior Candidate: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- AAT Level 3 or 4, or ACA studier.
- Minimum of 2Â years' experience in accounts preparation within a practice environment.
- Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation within a practice environment.
- Strong double-entry knowledge and skill.
- Cloud-based accounting systems knowledge including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
- Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel, for the production of letters and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic tax knowledge - awareness of how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT.
- Accuracy, organisational, and time management skills.
- Confident when dealing with clients and expressing your views.
- Methodical and logical thinking.
- Initiative to identify problems and provide solutions.
- Ability to work within a team and handle strict deadlines and conflicting priorities.
