 Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced CDM Principal Designer to lead CDM 2015 compliance across three concurrent industrial installation projects. This is a regulatory-focused role, not involving design or project management. The successful candidate will ensure all activities meet CDM requirements, with a strong emphasis on documentation, risk management, and health and safety coordination.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the appointed CDM Principal Designer under CDM 2015, overseeing compliance across all three installations.
  • Review existing planning and integration work to ensure it meets regulatory standards—no design or 3D modelling required.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure utilities integration and site-wide safety compliance.
  • Lead the preparation and collation of the Health and Safety File, ensuring it is comprehensive and future-proof.
  • Manage and communicate Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and residual risks to the Client and Principal Contractor.
  • Ensure seamless interface between PD and PC roles, maintaining clear communication and documentation flow.
  • Rapidly assimilate existing documentation and project structures to avoid delays or disruption.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CDM Principal Designer under CDM 2015 on comparable industrial or manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, risk elimination, and control in pre-construction phases.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on regulatory oversight and documentation.
  • Familiarity with industrial installations, including machinery, civils, structural, and M&E systems (for compliance review only).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with designers, contractors, and client teams.
