We are seeking a skilled Joinery Estimator for freelance work, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects, collaborating with clients and contractors, and ensuring competitive tenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed cost estimates from drawings and specifications.

  • Prepare competitive tender proposals and bills of quantities.

  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope.

  • Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotes.

  • Liaise with clients and project teams to clarify requirements.

  • Use estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Bluebeam, Excel) for take-offs and pricing.

  • Maintain cost databases and perform risk assessments.

Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of joinery estimation experience (cabinetmaking/shopfitting preferred).

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and using estimating software.

  • Strong knowledge of joinery processes (e.g., cabinetry, fit-outs).

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Degree or trade qualification in construction/joinery preferred but not essential.

Working Conditions
  • Flexible freelance role with potential remote/hybrid work - initially some time needed at Oxfordshire workshop/office.

  • Occasional travel for site visits or meetings.
