Are you a passionate and experienced leader looking to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant and inclusive primary school setting? We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Headteacher & SENDCo to join one our schools senior leadership team on a maternity cover basis.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, leading on inclusion and SEND provision, and supporting high-quality teaching and learning across all phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership alongside the Headteacher, contributing to school improvement and development.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils.
  • Lead on SEND provision, ensuring statutory obligations are met and inclusive practices are embedded.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning, supporting staff through coaching and mentoring.
  • Oversee curriculum development, particularly in foundation subjects, ensuring breadth and balance.
  • Line manage staff teams including lunchtime supervisors and support ECTs through induction and mentoring.
  • Represent staff on the governing body as appropriate.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience within a primary school setting.
  • Qualified SENDCo status or willingness to undertake the qualification.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and curriculum development.
  • Inspirational teaching practice and a commitment to raising standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
