Our clients have won major contracts within Government and Mod, and are seeking to hire a well performing Network Administrator. initailly for 1 month, but could be extended further. The role is based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK and will be on client sites.
Network infrastructure system architecture, RMADS (Risk Management Accreditation Document Set), and software/hardware audits.
Network topology documentation and inspection audits as well as producing a comprehensive report covering hardware, software, connectivity assessments and outputs.
Proficiency in the Nutanix Platform. Proficiency with VMWare and reporting on utilization. Proficiency with Oracle Database administration. Producing technical and general reports documenting findings. You will be required to: ? Login to the VM’s and check their resource allocation.
Monitor VM’s performance statistics.
Observe current backup jobs, Timeframes, historical trends, since the job last ran and when a restore has last taken place.
Physically inspect the server room to determine if any physical servers exist in the Production LAN which are not shown in the network diagram, if so document where they are, what s/w is running, determine if they are being backed up and to where and record it in the report.
Engage with a managed server provider to gain access to Oracle database, preferably snapshots of evidence of successful backup jobs. Also determine their backup strategy and possibly gain access to their backups for restores to the test bed.
Document all findings in an appropriate report format communicate the current state of the system and where risks may reside.
The use of VMWare (or other OS virtualisation tools) and the use and configuration of legacy operating systems, including Server 2008/2012, Windows 7, etc.
Porting, running and optimising legacy software. A hands-on approach to problem solving and 'making it work’.
Experience with working with MoD customers. Familiarity with ways of working, culture, and MoD safety and security requirements. Project management, including sprint-based activity and planning.
