Qualified Outreach Tutor - Maths & English (SEN Experience)
About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate and experienced Maths and English Tutor to provide 1:1 outreach tuition to pupils across Buckinghamshire who are currently not attending school. This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified educator looking to deliver bespoke learning outside the traditional classroom setting.
You will support young people with varying educational needs - including those with SEN, social, emotional or mental health challenges - helping them to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and make measurable academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 sessions in English and Maths (up to GCSE level)
- Plan engaging lessons that meet individual learning goals
- Support pupils with SEN and those who may have been out of education for extended periods
- Track and report on pupil progress in collaboration with Prospero's education team
- Provide a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Role Details
- Type: Part-time (10-15 hours per week, flexible)
- Duration: Ongoing, dependent on individual student needs
- Session Length: Typically 1-3 hours per session
- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay Rate: From 25 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Location: Buckinghamshire
- Subjects: Maths & English (up to GCSE level)
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months UK teaching/tutoring experience
- Proven experience supporting students with SEN
- Confident delivering English and Maths up to GCSE level
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
- Two recent, relevant references
- Right to work in the UK
