Orion is partnered with a high-volume manufacturing site located in Aylesbury which is recruiting for a highly experienced, senior Project Manager on an interim contract bases between 6 – 9 month period.

 

Project Manager Job Description:

  • Apply effective project management techniques, including milestone planning, workstream coordination, and regular follow-ups.
  • Provide cross-functional technical support to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Coordinate related workstreams such as packaging and asset implementation.
  • Share necessary technical information with vendors as needed.
  • Oversee acceptance testing and ensure validation criteria are met.
  • Identify and address project risks, issues, and budget concerns.
  • Collaborate with the project administrator to manage budget priorities.
  • Ensure efficient handovers and project completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans covering timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Use engineering expertise to support technical decisions, especially around mechanical and electrical components.
  • Maintain communication with internal teams and external stakeholders for alignment and issue resolution.
  • Maintain thorough project files for traceability, auditability, and policy compliance.
  • Continuously improve project processes to streamline workflows and boost efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative culture, working with operations to achieve business goals and drive continuous improvement

Project Engineer Required Experience:

  • A confident communicator with sharp analytical thinking and strong influencing abilities.
  • Proven experience in Project Engineering within the FMCG and manufacturing industry, with a solid grounding in both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams across capital improvement projects in fast-paced production environments.
  • Strong background in managing engineering projects specifically within FMCG manufacturing, with a deep understanding of industry-specific demands—speed, precision, hygiene, and compliance.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a methodical, structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting CAD and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks such as PRINCE2, Agile, or PMQ.
  • Digitally confident, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and software platforms.

Project Manager Shifts  – Monday – Friday 08:00 17:30 – Any over time taken at the weekends or bank holidays are paid as over time at a premium rate.
