We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher with expertise in working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This role is based at a supportive and well-resourced SEN school in Aylesbury. You will play a vital role in delivering highly individualised teaching and care, ensuring all students are supported to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans (IEPs) tailored specifically for students with PMLD, focusing on sensory engagement, communication, and life skills.
- Deliver multi-sensory lessons using a range of visual, auditory, and tactile strategies suited to each student’s abilities and EHCP targets.
- Use specialist communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, Eye Gaze, AAC) to support students with limited or non-verbal communication.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, OTs, and support staff.
- Monitor and assess student progress using P Levels, Engagement Model, or other appropriate assessment frameworks.
- Provide a safe, predictable, and emotionally secure environment, supporting students with complex medical and care needs where applicable.
- Liaise with parents/carers regularly, building trusting partnerships to support learning beyond the classroom.
- Uphold high standards of safeguarding, personal care, and behaviour management, always maintaining dignity and respect for the individual.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism or experience in SEN, preferably PMLD.
- Proven experience teaching learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
- Strong knowledge of specialist strategies and resources relevant to PMLD education.
- Confidence in supporting students with complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical needs.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing, patient, and creative approach to teaching.
