About the Role
We're supporting an award winning AV systems integrator with over 50 years' experience delivering design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of cutting edge AV systems. Their client base includes corporate offices, retail environments, and global brands. Known for innovation and technical excellence, they're now looking to bring on an Operations Manager to lead and optimise the engineering & installation operations.
Role Purpose
You'll be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, resources are well-managed, and clients consistently get excellent service. Working directly with the Engineering Director, you'll oversee scheduling, logistics, supplier and stock management, and uphold best practice processes (including ISO9001), helping scale operations smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the scheduling and coordination of engineering and installation teams across multiple projects (UK & international)
- Ensure project timelines are met and client expectations are exceeded
- Oversee logistics: travel, accommodation, equipment movement, and subcontractor coordination
- Lead procurement and supplier relationships, purchasing required AV components / system hardware
- Maintain and control stock, manage warehouse/inventory, and monitor stock movement (including cross-border/international if applicable)
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal operational processes; ensure compliance with ISO9001 or equivalent quality systems
- Support the Engineering Director with internal reporting, resource allocation, and operations strategy
- Act as a liaison point between internal departments: installation teams, engineering, finance, logistics, etc.
- Monitor and improve operational KPIs: delivery times, engineer utilisation, cost control, project margins
About You
- 5-10 years' experience in operations, logistics or project coordination, preferably in AV or a related technical field
- Solid understanding of AV systems and what is required in installation, commissioning, and maintenance arms (even if you won't be hands-on)
- Excellent organisational, planning and resource management skills; strong ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects
- Strong people skills: client communication, team management, subcontractor oversight, stakeholder alignment
- Proficient with operations tools: resource scheduling software, inventory management, procurement systems, MS Office / reporting tools
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK to optimize engineer and project scheduling
- Problem-solver mindset, able to anticipate issues and adjust plans proactively
