We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehabilitation Support Worker to complete a specialist care team, working with a man with a spinal cord injury and brain injury who is living independently in the Bakewell area.

The Role:

  • Supporting and encouraging with activities such as the gymnasium, wheelchair rugby and paddle boarding.
  • Providing support and assistance for social outings and appointments and assisting with all therapies, including hydrotherapy.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks.
  • Keeping a daily written record of work.
  • Dog walking and dog care.

About You:

  • We are looking for candidates who are flexible, reliable, trustworthy, and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour.
  • You should also be open minded and willing to learn new skills.
  • You should have a basic education with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • No specific qualifications are required but you must be able and willing to follow mandatory training and to learn specific skills to work effectively with client according to his care plan.
  • You should have the ability to provide a high standard of therapeutic support with a caring and professional approach.
  • Completion of the Care Certificate is an advantage.
  • The client lives in his own home with his dog. A dog lover is essential.

You must have:

  • A full clean driving licence is essential.
  • Previous and current care experience.
  • The ability to swim, to assist with hydrotherapy.

Shift Patterns:

  • Day shift: 8am to 8pm, Sleeping night shift: 8pm to 8am.
  • The current team provide full day and night time support on a rota basis, including weekend and bank holiday working. This shifts will be fixed but require a degree of flexibility to ensure that holiday and sickness cover can be provided.
