We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our client's finance team. This role is crucial for managing day-to-day accounting needs, including handling invoices, communicating with suppliers, and assisting in payment preparations. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage the main accounts inbox on designated days of the week.
- Correspond with suppliers and handle incoming invoices and statements via email.
- Utilise electronic POP system for filing and matching purchase orders.
- Check coding, input, and file purchase ledger invoices.
- Ensure completeness of invoicing by checking statements.
- Resolve invoicing queries with suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation of cheque/BACS payment runs, including pulling and checking invoices for payment.
- Handle photocopying of cheques and dispatching them.
- After 6 months, take on the responsibility of producing Scorecards.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effective interaction via telephone, email, and other electronic communication tools.
- Proficient ICT skills including accurate word processing, database maintenance, and spreadsheet usage.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, plan work, and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to duties and ability to adapt to changing environments.
