Are you a technically minded Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex installations on time and on budget?Do you thrive in fast-paced, client-focused environments?Are you looking for a role that offers real responsibility and autonomy across high-value engineering projects?Our client is a leading custom design and manufacturer in their field, selling their products to a wide range of clients across the UK & Ireland. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a client-facing, hands-on role overseeing the execution phase of projects – from equipment replacement to full installations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll take the reins post-sale and drive each project to successful completion, balancing technical excellence with strong commercial awareness.Key Responsibilities:
  • Take over project files following client order confirmation.
  • Analyse commercial proposals and technical specifications to validate feasibility.
  • Organise and lead internal/external project coordination meetings.
  • Monitor project budgets in detail using Microsoft Dynamics AX, ensuring profit margins are protected.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and update technical layouts with AutoCAD.
  • Build and manage detailed timelines using MS Project, accounting for production lead times and client site readiness.
  • Verify and validate equipment orders with international manufacturing sites.
  • Liaise directly with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure flawless execution.
  • Supervise all operations on-site, ensuring safe, timely delivery and installation.
  • Negotiate change orders and contractual amendments in alignment with the Sales Manager.
  • Carry the project through to final acceptance and client handover.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Degree or higher technical qualification in Mechanical or General Engineering (HND, BEng or equivalent).
  • Strong, demonstrable experience managing technical installations/projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in interpreting and modifying technical drawings.
  • Commercially astute with proven ability to manage costs and project profitability.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills – comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in project scheduling tools (MS Project or similar).
  • Client-facing, solution-oriented mindset with a professional approach.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the UK & Ireland.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
Additional Information:
  • Please note the Head Office is based in Banbury, but the role covers the entire UK.
  • Travel expenses covered; company vehicle provided.
  • Monday–Friday working week with flexibility required.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
